FAQ: Designer By Your Side Services

As my business is growing and changing, I am finding new and better ways to serve my clients and I’m so excited to share this new service with you all today: Designer By Your Side! So here are some FAQ about this service:

What is designer by your side?

Designer by your side is a service where I work closely with you throughout the service to answer design questions and provide guidance, advice and expertise on any issues you may have about your project. Designer by your side provides you with the confidence of knowing you have an interior design professional you can reach out to - no more polling Facebook for which color paint to go with or which type of flooring to select.

Who would benefit from this service?

If you are someone that wants to be involved in the project at all stages but just doesn’t feel confident to make every decision or you’re worried you can’t remember everything you need to decide (what color grout, how are you trimming the tile out, what height to hang the curtains, what color trim), then designer by your side will be a great fit. Designer by your side services are ideal for someone working on a large project and/or would like help over an extended period of time. If you are looking for assistance with a smaller project or a shorter timeline, then a consultation or designer for a day services may be a better fit. If you’re interested in either of those services, feel free to reach out for more information!

What can you help with?

Designer by your side services can be used on any number of tasks including:

  • guidance on the design direction of the project

  • development of floor plan and layout ideas

  • sourcing and selecting finishes, furnishings, and fixtures

  • providing samples for presentation purposes

  • choosing paint colors

  • in-person, phone, or email conversations

  • recommendations for and meetings with contractors

  • review of quotes and estimates

  • site visits

  • design drawings, including renderings, may be provided if time allows

How long does this service last?

This service is for a minimum of 20 hours. If you need less time than this, we would recommend our designer for a day service instead.

What if that isn’t enough time?

While 20 hours will get us off to a great start, depending on your needs and the scope of the project, we may find that 20 hours doesn’t see us through to the end. In this case, you will have the option to add on more time as we progress through the project. I will always communicate to you how much time you have remaining and when we are nearing the end to help you make those decisions.

Do I have to finish the project with you?

While you are committing to the 20 hour minimum for designer by your side services, if you find that you feel comfortable enough to continue on your own after the initial investment is completed, you are completely free to do so and under no contract to continue with any further services.

Will you manage the contractors/trades?

While we can sometimes recommend contractors and trade professionals for certain aspects of the project, due to the nature of designer by your side, we cannot commit to acting as a project manager for these services. We can certainly meet your contractors and trade professionals with you and communicate with them if there is an issue with the design, but if you would like someone to take care of the project from beginning to end, we recommend our full service design offerings instead.

What is the investment for this service?

Currently the investment for designer by your side services is $2000 for a 20 hour commitment. This includes sales tax and fees.

Home renovation projects are stressful and an investment of time, money, and energy. Let me help you reduce some of the stress that comes with a home project and give you the confidence that you are making the right decisions for your space - saving you time, money, and energy.
