For obvious reasons (couCOVIDgh), home office spaces have seen a huge surge in popularity over the past few years. Research has also shown that it is easier to separate work life and home life when you have a separate space to work than where you hang out with friends/family. Ideally, this would be a completely separate space, but in reality not everyone has a home large enough to designate an entire space to an office. In this case, I recommend a small desk and chair that can be tucked in a corner and designated as the work space. If you do have the space for a designated home office, think about what you need to plan for such as: storage, printer, computer, guest seating, zoom calls, etc. The layout on the board below is my go-to option for most home offices. It doesn’t always work, but is a great option that allows for ample storage, a great backdrop for zoom calls, seating for guests, and flexibility in workspaces.
